Minecraft mods (short for modifications) are user-created code that alter gameplay. Mods can be excellent education tools, especially those that introduce real-world STEM concepts (such as electricity or computer programming) to the game. Below are instructions for installing mods in MinecraftEdu and Minecraft.

MinecraftEdu
Installing mods in MinecraftEdu is easy! If you're playing a world from MinecraftEdu's world library, the world's profile page will tell you which version of MinecraftEdu you need, what mods are required to properly run the world, and which versions of those mods you should use.
Browse and download Minecraft Easy Mods by the Planet Minecraft community. Download Conquest Reforged here; Put the ConquestReforged-mc1.12.2.jar in your Minecraft's mods folder. Download Optifine for 1.12.2 here. Put the OptiFine1.12.2.jar into your Minecraft's mods folder. Download the ArdaCraft Resource Pack here as well as the Conquest Resource Pack here and put them in your resourcepacks folder. Flans Mod is one of the best Minecraft mods of all time. It is one of the most expandable mod packs available for Minecraft. It is so big that modders have started making mods for Flans Mod. To start, you must download the basic Flans Mod package. From there, you can download weapons mods, vehicle mods, plane mods, and plenty more. Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. The listing above indicates that two different types of mods are necessary: Required MinecraftEdu Hosted Mods and Required Additional Mods. You can see what mods are currently installed on your MinecraftEdu folder from the launcher. When the launcher is open, click the Mods button (1), then the Server Mods button (2), as shown below.
The Server Mods section is blank, indicating that no server mods are installed. Read below on how to install server mods.
MinecraftEdu Hosted Mods
MinecraftEdu hosted mods are stored on MinecraftEdu servers for easy download. MinecraftEdu will automatically select the right version of the mod for your version of minecraft. To retrieve a MinecraftEdu hosted mod, click the Switch to Online Mods button at the bottom of the mods window. You'll see a window that looks similar to the image below.
To download one of these mods, click on its name (don't worry if you don't see any change; the mod has been selected). Then hit the Download Mod button. You should see the name change to indicate that the mod is downloading.
After the download is complete, the icon next to the mod name will change to indicate that it is already downloaded.
If you click the Switch to Local Mods button at the bottom of the screen, you will see that the mod is now in your server's mod list, and enabled (indicated by the checked box next to its name).
That's all you need to do! Repeat this process for any other Required MinecraftEdu Hosted Mods needed for your world.
Additional Mods
Sometimes a world will require a mod that isn't hosted by MinecraftEdu. CREDC World of Power uses several such mods. These will be listed in the Required Additional Mods section of the world's profile page.
The screenshot above shows CREDC World of Power's required additional mods, from its profile page. Each one of the mod names links to a direct download for that mod. Just click the name of the mod to download it to your computer.
Downloading these mods will leave you with several files, usually .jar or .zip files. Collect these files into one place so you can find them later, then return to the server mods section of your MinecraftEdu launcher. Click the Open Mods Folder button.
This will open a file folder that contains any mods you've already downloaded from MinecraftEdu's server. On Windows, it will look something like the screenshot below:

Drag all of the .jar and/or .zip files you downloaded into this folder.
Now if you close and reopen the server mods window, you should see the additional mods listed and enabled.
That's it! All of your mods are successfully installed on your MinecraftEdu folder. It's safe to close any windows you opened up during the tutorial; your mods will still be there the next time you start up MinecraftEdu.
Note: Client Mods
To play on your server, your students will also have to have all of your server mods installed on their computers. You can install these in the exact same way you installed the server mods - just perform the installation on the Client Mods tab instead of the Server Mods tab.
Minecraft
Mods can also be installed in a vanilla Minecraft game. Every mod that works on MinecraftEdu should work in normal Minecraft. However, the process isn't as easy, and you'll have to find the MinecraftEdu hosted mods elsewhere on the web. For a tutorial on installing Minecraft mods, check out the mod installation tutorial on the Minecraft wiki.
Minecraft is one of those games with nearly unlimited content, and nothing represents that more than the thriving mod community for it. There’s a mod for almost everything out there, but it can be kind of annoying to install each mod you want piecemeal. That’s where modpacks come in.
There’s a pack out there for everyone, the same as there’s an individual mod for everything. Tech mods, space travel, magic, monsters, quests, and RPG elements, even anime-themed mods that are often quite well detailed.
This is a small selection of great packs we’ve tried out lately.
SevTech Ages
A technical, highly progression-based modpack. For some, it could be tedious, but it includes a lot of exciting toys to play around with and is great for those who miss the old Tekkit days but want something more advanced and in-depth for the modern Minecrafter.
Advanced Wizardry

At the other end of the tech spectrum is Advanced Wizardry, but it almost runs directly into Clarke’s Law: Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic, specifically the corollary to that (the opposite is also true).
You hit similar ends to in-depth tech mods by the end of this modpack’s progression, with a more magical flare. https://lpzjnec.weebly.com/download-mac-os-x-lion-iso-free.html. What, in the end, is the difference between a conveyor belt staffed by robots and a magical material fabricator ferried along by golems?
FTB Academy
Roxio creator 2010 free download for mac air pro. This is an amazing mod for those new to the modding scene or returning from a long absence. It walks through how to use and what the purpose is of a lot of the most common mods (which many modpacks include as a matter, of course, like NotEnoughItems).
This is a great resource, as well as a solid modpack in its own right.
Dragon Block Apollo
One of the many anime-themed mods for Minecraft, Dragon Block C is one of the more in-depth and interesting ones. While immensely grindy (and completely invalidates most base game content and difficulty), it is an incredibly fun power fantasy mod.
Playing this mod alone kind of sucks the fun out of it, to be honest, so having a good server is a must. Thankfully this one comes with a server attached, and some nice server-specific bonuses like custom forms unavailable in the base mod, shops, and working Dragon Balls. https://lpzjnec.weebly.com/blog/how-download-pictures-to-mac-from-camera. The 1.7.10 Pack
While the name doesn’t sound like much, this is a collection of all of the best mods for the 1.7.10 version of Minecraft. There are a lot of great mods stuck to this version of the game for one reason or another: the creator dropped it, it’s too much of a pain to update to a newer version, or some other dilemma. But that just means it’s sometimes worth going back to an older version of the game for it.
The 1.12.2 Pack
Just like the 1.7.10 Pack, this is a Technic modpack that contains all of the best, most commonly used mods for 1.12.2. There’s probably nothing groundbreaking in either of these packs; these are mods you’ve probably used when forming your own modpack at one point or another, with standby mods like Thaumcraft, the “Too Many X” and “Just Enough X” mods, and Baubles forming the bulk of it. Still, there’s a lot to be said for collecting all of your favorites in one place, especially since modpacks are so easy to subtract from and add onto. It just saves you time if you still want more.
FTB MageQuest
Another great magic modpack, albeit one that hasn’t been updated in years. Still, it’s a great pack and includes a lot of fun elements instead of hyper-focusing on the progression aspects of magic like Advanced Wizardry does.

Witchcraft and Wizardry
The sheer obvious passion put into this mod really goes a long way in bringing us back to our love of the world of Harry Potter. While not technically a modpack, as it is a single mod, there’s enough content in here to make up over a dozen smaller mods, with all kinds of Harry Potter-themed gameplay changes, puzzles, and an incredibly detailed map of the Wizarding World.
Roguelike Adventures and Dungeons
A fun questing and RPG mod that adds external goals to Minecraft rather than only providing the internally focused ones the base game requires you to come up with. We love mods that add new dungeons and stuff, so this is right up our alley, even if it lacks a bit in the RPG elements.
All The Mods 3

If you’re the kind of player who wants pretty much everything to play around with at once, this is a good jack-of-all-trades modpack that provides somewhat of a Vanilla+ experience. Nothing fundamentally changes the gameplay loop; it just adds more toys to your sandbox to play with, which is perfectly fine.
